HelloSafe, a digital travel insurance broker, becomes the first operator in the world to offer a native travel insurance app on ChatGPT. Any traveller, regardless of nationality, currency or language, can now compare offers and get a personalised quote directly in their AI conversation. The subscription is finalised securely on the HelloSafe app.
A world first made possible by AI
Until now, no travel insurance app worked natively inside a mainstream AI assistant. The reason is both technical and regulatory: making a multi-insurer comparison engine talk to a language model, while meeting the compliance requirements specific to insurance, remained an unsolved challenge.
HelloSafe breaks through that barrier. The company has undertaken significant technological work to make its insurance data directly usable by language models, relying in particular on the MCP (Model Context Protocol). It is this infrastructure that allows ChatGPT to query the HelloSafe comparison engine in real time and turn a simple conversation into a complete quote journey. The user no longer needs to leave the tool they are already using, or fill in a form: they describe their trip in natural language and receive a recommendation tailored to their profile.
The first results confirm the uptake: tens of thousands of users now reach HelloSafe through AI assistants.
A market of hundreds of millions of users
The timing is significant. ChatGPT surpassed one billion monthly active users on its app in June 2026, with around 900 million weekly users, up from 400 million a year earlier. AI assistants are becoming a daily entry point: according to OpenAI, nearly half of all conversations involve asking a question to find information or make a decision. By positioning itself natively on ChatGPT, HelloSafe reaches its future customers where they already are, at the precise moment they are planning their trip.
Truly universal coverage
It is the breadth of this solution that makes it a world first. Where existing comparison platforms are limited to a handful of markets, HelloSafe covers 180 nationalities, 45 currencies and over 50 languages. In practice, the app serves a traveller from France heading to the US just as well as someone whose nationality, currency or language had never been supported by any platform before.
A roadmap beyond travel insurance
Travel insurance is only the first step. HelloSafe plans to integrate its bank card insurance tools in the near future, broadening the range of products available directly through ChatGPT and covering a wider range of everyday needs.

HelloSafe has designed this journey to the same standard of rigour as its web platforms: personal and banking data are processed to the strictest security standards, and the subscription generates a valid contract with licensed insurers.
