Our Verdict · Travel Insurance
Cancel $1,500. No medical, no delay. Here's what that means on a Frontier co-branded card. The Frontier Airlines Mastercard covers trip cancellation and baggage delays at a $89 annual fee. For an emergency hospitalization or evacuation on a trip to Mexico or Central America, though, this card is not a substitute for a dedicated travel policy. A standalone supplement covers this gap from $30.
Every score is derived from official bank documents: terms and conditions, benefit guides, and claim procedures. No commercial relationship influences our ratings.

Trip cancellation paid out for illness
The trip cancellation insurance saved me when I got sick before a Cancun trip. Filed online, provided the doctor's note, got reimbursed $1,800 in prepaid non-refundable costs. About 3 weeks turnaround.

Airline cancellation not covered
Frontier cancelled my flight and I expected the travel insurance to cover my hotel rebooked at the last minute. The insurance only covers personal health or death, not airline cancellations. I lost $400 in hotel costs.
Consumer review
Cap too low for a real trip
The $1,500 per-person limit sounds reasonable until you price out an actual vacation. My non-refundable flights plus hotel for a week in Costa Rica ran over $3,000. Had to cancel when I broke my ankle. The card paid $1,500 and I ate the rest. For an $89 annual fee card, this is the ceiling, not a safety net.
