Our opinion on Truist Enjoy Travel Travel Insurance

Expert review · Pauline LauroreAuthor of HelloSafe's card insurance reviews

No cancel. No medical. AD&D only. The Truist Enjoy Travel card provides exactly one real insurance benefit on a $0 annual fee Visa Signature: $250,000 in accidental death and dismemberment coverage when you charge a Common Carrier fare to the card. That is the complete travel insurance package. There is no trip cancellation, no trip delay, no baggage delay, no emergency medical, and no evacuation. Travel and Emergency Assistance Services is included but provides referrals only: you pay every actual cost yourself. If you want this card for travel insurance, the answer is straightforward. One AD&D benefit does not protect an international trip.

What works on travel
  • $250,000 Travel Accident (AD&D): cardholder, spouse or domestic partner, and unmarried dependent children covered on any Common Carrier trip when you charge the full fare to the card
  • Travel and Emergency Assistance Services: 24/7 referrals to physicians, hospitals, attorneys, and embassies when traveling, emergency cash transfer arrangement up to $5,000
Where travel breaks down
  • No trip cancellation or interruption: non-refundable trip expenses are entirely at your risk
  • No emergency medical coverage abroad: every hospital bill outside the US is fully your responsibility
  • No emergency evacuation benefit: air ambulance from a remote destination runs $50,000 to $200,000, zero covered here
  • No trip delay reimbursement: meals, hotel, and transport during any delay are out of pocket
  • No baggage delay or lost luggage coverage: this card provides no baggage protection whatsoever

What does Truist Enjoy Travel Travel Insurance actually cover?

Quality, not just caps

No trip cancellation coverage of any kind. For a card promoted for travel, non-refundable bookings have zero protection. A single cancelled international trip can represent $3,000 to $10,000 in unrecoverable costs.

No trip cancellation benefit. This benefit is not included with this card. Non-refundable flights, hotels, and tours are entirely at your risk if you must cancel. A standalone travel insurance policy is required for this coverage.

No emergency medical insurance. Every dollar of any hospital bill abroad is yours. A single ER visit abroad typically runs $8,000 to $60,000.

No emergency medical coverage abroad. Travel and Emergency Assistance provides physician referrals but pays zero medical costs. All hospital expenses outside the United States are entirely the cardholder's responsibility.

No evacuation coverage. Air ambulance from a remote destination averages $50,000 to $200,000. Zero covered here.

No emergency evacuation or repatriation coverage. Travel and Emergency Assistance can help coordinate logistics but pays zero transportation costs. All evacuation expenses are the cardholder's responsibility.

No trip interruption benefit. This benefit is not included with this card. If your trip is cut short for any reason, non-refundable prepaid expenses are not reimbursed.

No trip delay reimbursement of any kind. An overnight hotel, meals, or transport during any delay are out of pocket.

No trip delay reimbursement. This benefit is not included with this card. Meals, lodging, and incidental expenses during any flight delay are entirely the cardholder's responsibility.

No missed connection coverage. This benefit is not included with this card. Rebooking costs and incidental expenses from missed connections are not covered.

No early return benefit. This benefit is not included with this card. Additional transportation costs from cutting a trip short are the cardholder's responsibility.

No baggage delay coverage. This benefit is not included with this card. Essential purchases during a baggage delay are out of pocket.

No lost or stolen baggage coverage. This benefit is not included with this card. If your luggage is permanently lost in transit, you are limited to the airline's liability cap. All losses beyond that are the cardholder's responsibility.

Wrong card issued at application

Since the beginning I was always interested in the Truist Enjoy Travel card for my travel purposes. My application went to card Enjoy Cash card instead Enjoy Travel. All I request is that the product I was pre-qualified for, be changed to the Enjoy Travel card.

FAQ

What people ask about the Truist Enjoy Travel

  • The Enjoy Travel card's Travel Accident Insurance activates automatically when you charge the entire cost of a Common Carrier passenger fare to your Truist Visa Signature card. No enrollment or pre-registration is required. For Roadside Dispatch, simply call 1-800-847-2869 when you need service. Note that Roadside Dispatch is a pay-per-use program: you pay the service provider directly at the time of service. Travel and Emergency Assistance is also automatic for cardholders traveling more than 50 miles from home. Call 1-800-992-6029 or 1-804-673-1675 outside the US.
  • Travel Accident Insurance covers the primary cardholder, their spouse or domestic partner, and unmarried dependent children under 19 years of age, provided the entire Common Carrier fare is charged to the Truist Visa Signature card. Unmarried children under 25 who are full-time students at an accredited institution are also covered. Travel and Emergency Assistance Services are available to the cardholder, their spouse, and dependent children under 22.
  • The Truist Enjoy Travel card does not include rental car collision damage waiver (CDW) coverage. Physical damage and theft of a rental vehicle are entirely your responsibility. If you rent a car with this card, purchase the rental agency's CDW or confirm that your personal auto insurance covers rental vehicles. The card includes Roadside Dispatch, a pay-per-use program at roughly $69.95 per service call for towing, tire changes, and jump starts. Call 1-800-847-2869 when needed.
  • For Travel Accident Insurance: mail written notice within 20 days of the covered loss to cbsi Card Benefit Services, 550 Mamaroneck Avenue, Suite 309, Harrison, NY 10528. You can also reach the benefit administrator at 1-800-397-9010 or collect at 303-967-1093 outside the US. cbsi will send claim forms within 15 days. Submit complete proof of loss within 90 days of the accident. For Roadside Dispatch: call 1-800-847-2869 and pay the service provider directly.
  • The Truist Enjoy Travel card has very limited insurance benefits. There is no trip cancellation or interruption coverage: non-refundable bookings are entirely at your risk. There is no emergency medical coverage abroad: every hospital bill outside the US is yours to pay. There is no evacuation benefit. There is no trip delay reimbursement. There is no baggage delay or lost luggage benefit. There is no rental car CDW. There are no purchase protection or extended warranty benefits. The complete insurance package consists of $250,000 Travel Accident Insurance and pay-per-use Roadside Dispatch.
  • Yes, for any meaningful trip. The Enjoy Travel card provides only $250,000 in accidental death coverage on Common Carrier trips and pay-per-use roadside dispatch. There is no trip cancellation, no emergency medical, no evacuation, no baggage protection, and no rental car CDW. If you travel internationally, you are exposed on every major risk category. A standalone travel insurance policy would fill the medical, evacuation, and trip cancellation gaps. A card with CDW would protect your rental vehicles.
  • Not for insurance purposes. The card provides $250,000 in Travel Accident Insurance, which pays only in the event of accidental death or dismemberment on a Common Carrier. There is no emergency medical benefit: a hospital visit abroad is entirely out of pocket. There is no evacuation: air ambulance from a remote destination runs $50,000 to $200,000. There is no trip cancellation. The card earns 2x miles on airfare, hotels, and car rentals, which makes it useful as a rewards card. For insurance protection on international trips, a separate policy is necessary.
