Our Verdict · Travel Insurance
Zero travel insurance. CDW on rentals. Here's what those two facts mean every time you book a trip with this card. The AAA Daily Advantage card's Guide to Benefits is five pages. It covers rental car collision damage waiver and emergency referral services. No trip cancellation, no emergency medical, no baggage delay, no lost luggage, no travel accident coverage of any kind. Most cardholders assume a Visa Signature card includes travel accident insurance as a network standard. Bread Financial has not included those additional benefits on this card. The guide confirms it in five pages. For a no-annual-fee card built around the aaa daily advantage card benefits of 5% grocery cashback, that positioning is consistent. The coverage story ends with CDW.Standalone travel insurance for a single international trip starts around $15. Emergency medical coverage starts at $100,000 per person. The math is clear for anyone booking a non-refundable trip.If this card stays in your wallet for grocery runs, the insurance gap is irrelevant. If you charge a non-refundable flight to this card, every dollar of risk is yours.

Good no-fee card for groceries: CDW works but it is secondary
Had this card two years for the 3% on groceries and pharmacies. Used the CDW once renting in Canada. Visa benefits paid back about $400 in three weeks with no real hassle. In the US it's secondary, so I had to loop in my auto insurance first. Manageable for a free card.

No trip cancellation is a real gap for travelers
Found out too late there is zero trip cancellation on this card. Flight cancelled, hotel non-refundable, lost about $600. The card covers accidents on planes, not cancellations. Fine for daily spending, but add standalone travel insurance if you book prepaid trips.

Guide to Benefits is 5 pages covering almost nothing
Received the Guide to Benefits from Bread Financial. Five pages. Covers only the rental car CDW and emergency referral services. No purchase protection, no extended warranty, no travel accident insurance. Fine for the grocery cashback. Do not rely on this card for any protection coverage.
