Avery
Easy no-fee card for earning points
Praised the simple application process, points-earning capability and no annual fee, and noted good in-branch support.
Lynn
Good in its day, now overshadowed
Assessed the card as pretty good at its prime, but now overshadowed by other Scotiabank offerings.
Sajid Zareef
Good card, frustrating service
The card is good but completely useless because Scotiabank and staff have no clue of their product. After repeated issues with credit-limit increases and unresolved system errors, I switched to a TD Visa.

What people ask about the Scotiabank Scene+ Visa Card
- No. The Scene+ Visa Card has no emergency medical or hospital coverage abroad. For out-of-country medical protection you would need a higher-tier Scotiabank card or a standalone travel-insurance policy.
- No. Pre-paid, non-refundable travel costs are not protected if you cancel or interrupt a trip.
- No. Damage or theft of a rental vehicle is not covered. The card only offers an Avis/Budget rental discount, which is a price discount and not insurance.
- No. A lost, stolen or damaged phone is not covered. (By contrast, the Scotiabank American Express Card does include mobile device insurance.)
- No. New purchases are not insured against theft or damage, and the manufacturer's warranty is not extended.
- It is a separate, optional, paid balance-protection product underwritten by Chubb Life Insurance Company of Canada. It can help cover your payments or pay off your balance on certain life events (such as disability, critical illness, job loss or death). It is not free card-benefit insurance — you must enrol and pay for it. Certificate or claims: 1-855-753-4272.
- Buy a standalone travel-insurance policy, charge eligible trips to a card that includes coverage, or upgrade to a Scotiabank card that carries insurance (for example the Passport Visa Infinite, Gold American Express, or Momentum Visa Infinite).
